Requests that involve new courses, changes to existing courses, course withdrawals, or one-time course offerings must be submitted by the deadlines below. (For more information about the curricular process, please see section V of the ASC Operations Manual.) If you have questions regarding the timing of a specific request, please reach out to a member of the ASCCAS staff and we will happily discuss your options. 

We recommend that proposals going through the College of the Arts and Sciences curricular approval process (i.e., those proposals that need to be reviewed by a faculty panel) be submitted (via CourseLeaf) in time to reach the Curriculum and Assessment Services at least 18-20 weeks (5 months) before student scheduling begins for a given semester. For One-Time course offerings, we recommend submitting proposals at least 1-2 weeks prior to the deadline to submit proposals to the CIM/CourseLeaf workflow. Please keep in mind that curricular committees do not meet during the summer or university observed holiday/breaks. Additionally, the Ohio State University Board of Trustees (who review all new course and course revision proposals prior to them being processed by the Office of the University Registrar) only convenes to review courses every 1-2 months.  The ASCCAS staff will do everything possible to make sure requests reach OUR on time.
