Dan has a background in writing program administration, including curriculum development, teacher training, and program assessment. Dan’s assessment experience also includes conducting gen-ed assessments and combining indirect and direct methods to learn more about the relationship between students’ academic pathways and what they get out of their programs. He’s a big believer in using assessment to start conversations within departments and across institutional boundaries.
As Assessment Coordinator, he seeks to help programs meet their reporting requirements and get the most out of their assessment activities. Here are the types of support he can provide:
- Assisting ASC units’ assessment personnel in meeting reporting requirements by offering guidance on how to enter outcomes, plans and results into the Nuventive.Improve system.
- Consulting with ASC units’ assessment personnel as they review assessment plans and make decisions on how to implement those plans.
- Researching and reviewing tools and methods for assessment and sharing findings with the college, university, and broader academic community.
